The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) is supporting Right to Know day 2013 as an event that highlights the valuable nature of information.
‘Right to Know day is a great reminder that Government-held information is a national resource. The free and open publication of information, such as in the Information Publication Scheme and the Australian Government data portals, remind us of the value of this asset’, said Freedom of Information Commissioner, Dr James Popple.
Right to Know day 2013 will be celebrated with different events in countries around the globe. The OAIC will be raising awareness on social media, including using the #RTKD2013 hashtag.
