Privacy assessment of ACT Justice and Community Safety portfolio

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has published a report outlining the findings of the first privacy assessment conducted under the Territory Privacy Principles (TPPs). The TPPs were introduced by the Information Privacy Act 2014 (ACT) on 1 September 2014 and apply to ACT public sector agencies.

The OAIC examined the online privacy policies of seven ACT public sector agencies within the Justice and Community Safety portfolio. The policies were assessed against specific requirements contained in TPP 1, which deals with the open and transparent management of personal information.

This assessment may assist other ACT agencies in developing or revising their own TPP privacy policies.
