Clarification to the OAIC’s 2016–17 Digital Health Annual Report web page

7 June 2018

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has amended the web version of its Annual report of the Australian Information Commissioner’s activities in relation to digital health 2016–17 to address a formatting error in relation to several footnote references, which occurred during the HTML conversion of the tabled report. The PDF version of the tabled report published at the time did not contain the error.

The formatting error in the web page version occurred in relation to the numbers of ‘healthcare recipients affected’ in 3 columns of the ‘System Operator’ row in the ‘Receiving mandatory data breach notifications’ table in Part 3. For example, the number of healthcare recipients affected by six My Health Record data breaches received in 2016–17 was 11 people, not what appeared to be 113 people. These breaches were reported in 2016–17 by the Australian Digital Health Agency, as the System Operator.

The updated web page now accurately reflects the content in the tabled report.
