Information Commissioner (IC) review decisions

We published four IC review decisions in January this year. A list of all IC review decisions is available through our website. Full decisions are available on AustLII.

New Deputy Commissioner appointed

At the start of the year we welcomed a new Deputy Commissioner to the OAIC, Elizabeth Hampton, who brings extensive experience in senior positions across the Australian Public Service.

Ms Hampton has held a variety of senior executive roles within the Commonwealth Home Affairs portfolio and served as Industry Complaints Commissioner with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority from 2010 to 2014.

Previously, Ms Hampton worked at Centrelink as National Appeals Coordinator instructing Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Federal Court appeals; at the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman as Director of the Law Enforcement Branch; and as Director, Product Safety Branch of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

You can read more about our executive on the OAIC website.

OAIC careers

Want to work at the forefront of policy, guidance and enforcement of Australia’s freedom of information law? We're looking for new advisers to join our team: you can read more on our careers page. Applications close 4 February 2019.
