Celebrate your Right to Know

Thursday 28 September is Right to Know Day — we encourage you to explore your right to access government held information, and to support its use as a national resource.

All Australians have the right to access government documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).

This provides you with a mechanism to scrutinise the operation of Government agencies and Ministers — you can request access to documents that show how decisions were made, and what information was used to make them.

Learn more about your right to know on our Right to Know Day website.

Join the social media conversation with #RTK2017

And celebrate 35 years of your right to know.
