The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) welcomes the Government’s decision, outlined in last night’s budget, to allocate $37 million over the next four years to fund, ongoing, the OAIC’s privacy and FOI regulatory functions.

Acting Australian Information Commissioner, Timothy Pilgrim PSM said, “This recognises the important rights and protections that are provided to Australian communities through the FOI and Privacy Acts. The OAIC looks forward to working with Australian businesses, agencies and individuals to deliver our regulatory, public education and dispute resolution services into the future.”
