The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has launched an upgraded and enhanced website, with a range of new accessibility and useability features.

The site upgrade includes a more user-friendly menu system and new search and filter functions.

We have also updated a range of guidance publications, and updated and developed new frequently asked questions (FAQs), which are available by audience — for individuals, Government agencies, businesses, and health service providers.

Examples of new content include new resources on tax file numbers for individuals, agencies and business, and new FAQs on Social media, ICT & identity security (for individuals), ID scanning (for business), and credit reporting (for business).

New useability features also include:

  • An option to view large tables in full screen
  • expanding tables of contents
  • pop-up footnoting.

New accessibility features include:

  • a keyboard useable menu and skip links
  • a new video player
  • ARIA landmarks.

If you need help navigating the new menu system, or finding any resources, please check the New website help page.
