Safeguarding privacy has never been more important to a start-up’s success.

In today’s tech-driven world, many start-up businesses rely on customers’ personal information — just think of wearable fitness trackers or social media apps.

Being transparent about the privacy practices and security measures that safeguard personal information is vital in gaining and keeping customers. 94% of customers believe trust, including in how a business manages personal information, is more important than convenience. As privacy awareness continues to increase, customers will expect more from Australian businesses.

A successful start-up may also be required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 in the future. Addressing privacy at the start can save time and money later.

We have released two new videos and a handy resource to help start-up businesses understand how to get started in getting privacy right.
