Commissioner Priorities
The OAIC develops annual Commissioner Priorities as part of its corporate planning to coordinate activity across the OAIC. The OAIC’s current Commissioner Priorities are:
FOI
- Promote Open Government to better serve the Australian community
- Increase OAIC FOI regulatory and case management effectiveness
- Uplift agency capability in the exercise of FOI functions
- Make FOI compliance easier.
Privacy
- Promote privacy in the context of emerging technologies and digital initiatives
- Increase OAIC privacy case management efficiency
- Embed a cohesive regulatory and enforcement strategy
- Improve compliance through articulating what good looks like.
Enterprise
- Uplift our IT systems to be more effective and responsive to our contemporary needs
- Effective operation of OAIC corporate functions
- Enhance OAIC operational reporting.
Information
- Data driven regulatory action – internal and external
- Australian Public Service capability uplift
- Rights preservation in new and emerging technologies
- International leadership.
Our priorities will guide our approach to BAU work across the OAIC.
