Guide to privacy regulatory action

Thumbnail of publication: Guide to privacy regulatory action, June 2015The OAIC has released a new Guide to privacy regulatory action to support the Privacy regulatory action policy released in November 2014. The Guide sets out a detailed explanation of how the OAIC will exercise its privacy regulatory powers and the procedural steps the OAIC will take in using these powers. When taking regulatory action, the OAIC is guided by the principles of independence, accountability, proportionality, consistency, timeliness and transparency.

The Guide to privacy regulatory action should be read in conjunction with the Privacy regulatory action policy. Both of these policy documents can be found in Our regulatory approach.
