Commissioner appointments

Timothy Pilgrim in his office The Attorney-General, Senator the Hon George Brandis QC, has advised that the Government will be recommending the appointment of Timothy Pilgrim PSM as the Australian Information Commissioner and his reappointment as Australian Privacy Commissioner.

These appointments are made by the Governor-General of Australia.

In these roles Mr Pilgrim will carry out functions and exercise relevant Commissioner powers under the Privacy Act 1988, Freedom of Information Act 1982 and the Australian Information Commissioner Act 2010.
