The OAIC publishes a range of data and statistical information including Freedom of Information and Privacy.
Freedom of Information dashboard
The Australian Government FOI statistics dashboard presents key freedom of information (FOI) data over the last 5 years, as reported by Australian Government agencies and ministers to the OAIC under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. Further information and data is available at Australian Government freedom of information statistics.
The dashboard is an interactive presentation of data published in the OAIC’s annual reports and also on data.gov.au and is updated quarterly.
Commonwealth FOI Statistics Annual Report - Volume 2
Volume 2 of the OAIC Annual report provides a collection of key FOI statistics and themes for the Commonwealth as reported by agencies and ministers subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1982.

Privacy and Data Breach datasets
The OAIC also publishes a range of statistics and data relating to the Privacy Act 1988, including Notifiable data breaches statistics under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Notifiable Data Breach (NDB) Statistics Dashboard
The OAIC recently established a new Notifiable Data Breach statistics dashboard. The NDB Statistics Dashboard presents key statistics on data breach notifications received by the OAIC under the NDB scheme dating back to the scheme’s commencement in February 2018. The dashboard assists reporting entities and stakeholders understand the volume of data breaches reported to the OAIC, the number of people affected, including causes and sectoral trends.
OAIC Privacy impact assessment register
The OAIC publishes a register of all privacy impact assessments (PIA’s) as required under the Australian Government Agencies Privacy Code. View our Privacy Impact Assessment register.
