What you'll do:
The role Privacy Reform Implementation and Social Media (PRISM) will primarily undertake an Impact Analysis to determine the regulatory impact of the Children's Online Privacy Code (the Code) before its registration. The position will provide evidence-based analysis to assess the likely economic, regulatory, and social impacts of proposed options, in line with the Australian Government Impact Analysis Framework.
Skills and capability we need:
We are seeking a high-performer to deliver a regulatory impact assessment for the Children’s Online Privacy Code, in a timely manner.
Applicants should possess strong critical thinking, analytical and research and writing skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity or incomplete information.
Experience working with the Government’s Impact Analysis Framework, undertaking qualitative and quantitative analysis, especially cost-benefit analysis is highly desirable.

About our team:
The Privacy Reform Implementation and Social Media Taskforce was established in January 2025 to:
- Develop a Children’s Online Privacy Code (Children’s Code) as required by the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (POLA Act)
- ensure the OAIC is prepared for its role protecting privacy in the social media minimum age scheme established by the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Act 2024 (SMMA Act), and
- coordinate and support activity required across the OAIC in response to other measures contained in the POLA Act.
