Information:

Any request for an OAIC speaker must be made using our online speaker request form (see below) and should provide as much information and notice as possible. Please do not send an invitation directly to the speaker.

Thank you for your interest in requesting an OAIC speaker for an event.

Please complete our speaker request form to request a speaker, providing as much information and notice as possible. Invitations sent directly to the speaker will not be considered.

Please view our Commissioner Priorities and our Regulatory Priorities before submitting your form. You will be required to select one and advise how the topic and/or audience is relevant to the OAIC’s strategic priorities. We will consider the priorities and the availability and capacity of OAIC speakers, when reviewing your request.

Applications that do not provide the required details will generally not be considered.

The review process can sometimes be lengthy and take several weeks due to the high volume of request we receive.

Other considerations:

  • If a speaking invitation is accepted, we may request passes for staff to attend for learning and development purposes.
  • We require access to or copies of any recordings or publications featuring an OAIC speaker, with express consent to publish on our own platforms at our discretion.
  • If an invitation to speak at a commercial event is accepted, we may seek to recover travel and other costs and may request a speaker’s fee.
